Several months ago as I asked God what He wanted next for my life, He gave me a progressive, unfolding picture in my mind’s eye over a 30 day period. Beginning with the root system of a tree, the picture then shifted to the trunk of the tree, then to the portion of the tree where the branches begin to split off from the trunk, and finally it ended with the fullness of the tree complete with lush leaves and fruit. God then led me to the different passages in Scripture that mention “root” or “roots”. After looking them up, I found myself so full of faith for God moving me toward opening up this store. There is one that I have primarily held on to, which is Jeremiah 17:8:
"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."
I take it as a promise from the Lord that as I am rooted and grounded in Him, He will bear much fruit, perhaps financially but more so to see His transforming love moving in and through this place. My husband and I have been made to be advocates. My husband is also a business owner, and our desire is to use our businesses as platforms to advocate for those who God calls us to.
If this encourages you, you may want to check out the rest of these verses below about roots/trees. It stirs me up every time I read them. Enjoy!
